UC Davis Technical Director David Moon is on the Wyatt Pavilion stage helping Eric Thor III (on the cherry picker) adjust lights, while student lighting designer Tod Ehmann (seated behind Moon) makes final arrangements on the digital programmer.

The group was preparing for Festival of Plays, which is being presented this weekend and next. Moon, on campus as an employee and student for 19 years and for 10 years the technical director for the Department of Theatre and Dance, is in charge of building sets and designing lights for the department’s many productions.

But he also plays an important role as mentor and inspiration to the student lighting and production crews as they learn the ropes of putting on a show.
